Dr Jolly RUBAGIZA

Jolly Rubagiza holds a PhD in Education from the University of Bristol in the UK. She has a long career in academics and leadership positions in Rwanda. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Gender Studies, University of Rwanda (UR). Until July 2020, she was the Acting Director General at the Rwanda Management Institute (RMI), which is a training, research and capacity building institution for public and private sector employees in Rwanda. Before joining Rwanda Management Institute in 2017, as Deputy Director General, she was the Director of the Center for Gender Studies at UR (2012-2017). Throughout her teaching, research and leadership career, she has led and engaged in different research and consultancy projects, supervised students at Master’s and PhD level, conducted various trainings, mentored girls and young women and provided leadership at different levels. Jolly has published scholarly articles and teaching materials on various topics including; Gender and Education, Peace Building and Social Cohesion in Education, Gender and Local Governance, ICT in Education, HIV/AIDS, and others.Jolly is also an active member of a number of women’s organizations in Rwanda, and anAdvisory Member to several organizations in and outside the country.
