My name is Umutoni Kagisha Laetitia. I am an Assistant Lecturer at University of Rwanda in College of Arts and Social Sciences, exactly at Centre for Gender Studies
Currently, I teach courses related to development management, rural development strategies, and gender studies. I am committed to empowering the next generation of leaders and practitioners through innovative teaching methods and a strong emphasis on real-world applications of theoretical concepts.
I hold a Master’s degree in Management of Development, with a specialization in Rural Development and Gender. Passionate about sustainable development and gender equality, I has dedicated my academic and professional career to understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by rural communities especially women
In addition to teaching, I actively engage in research focusing on women in informal sector, gender based violence and gender and development, contributing valuable insights to the field of development studies. I am dedicated to fostering collaboration between academic institutions and local communities, aiming to create effective solutions that enhance livelihoods and promote gender equity in rural areas.
With a strong belief in the importance of education and advocacy, I continue to inspire and mentor students, encouraging them to become advocates for positive change within their communities.
